TAUNG Monday, 23/04/2018 – A police reinforcement from Kimberley has successfully cleared the barricaded N18 stretch on the outskirts of Taung in the North West.

SAPS unit members of the Public Order Policing (POPS) were summoned to the area after residents who were reportedly from Maphoitsile village blocked the route in demand for the resignation of North West premier Supra Mahumapelo and improved service delivery.

Todays burning of tyres follows the North West capital of Mahikeng having been affected by mayhem which spread to other areas last week. President Cyril Ramaphosa was forced to cut short his London trip to attend to a besieged Mahikeng.
