She is a prominent figure of Kimberley’s social scene and is comfortable with being called a socialite. To some she is the queen bee of the slay society with beautiful free spirited model like young ladies clinging unto her wherever she is at. Natasha Mosole is a business savvy diva that has made Thursday nights at the city’s swankiest joint, Rio Cocktail Lounge, her own through Tashy Thursday.
What got the Rio concept going and is there more in store for Mosole? “I used to go to Rio a lot on Thursdays and every time I would post on my social media pages, the lounge would draw an increase in patrons. The owner McDonald Visser and the then events manager Uzilo Magada got to acknowledge my brand. From there on we conceptualised on Tashy Thursday and we managed to rope in sponsors.
“I trust that Tashy Thursday’s would continue to have a magnetic pull in that I am planning much bigger events that are more networking orientated and other vibrant social interactions that would give much to write home about (watch this space vuil vuil).”
She possesses a wardrobe that mirrors what Jozi a-listers get clad in, drawing the attention of the lifestyle paparazzi. In between Mosole’s garments which she purchases online and sparkles in from the creative abilities of local designers such as Nkosinathi Yaso, there is a touch of revealing items but she says it does not border on “Zodwa Wabantu nakedness.”
“I prefer to be different and I am snobbish about not being replicated unless if you in my crew and we have agreed on a specific night’s dress code.”
And, what about the revealing wardrobe? I insist on my question. She riposte as such; “I am not naked but sexy. We should thwart double standards of appreciating your Beyonces and Rihannas when clad in revealing stuff and yet take to social media to condemn me.”
Yes indeed, she has got tongues wagging. Kimberley has not dusted off its conservativeness which can easily blight when Mosole party’s up a storm with her army of human gems. The negative perceptions laced with sly innuendoes do not bother her, it appears.
“My friends are all matured people and I have no domineering and bad influence over them despite some plastic social critics thinking so. Instead, I Natasha and my friends, have planned on doing social good in taking to schools in advocating the anti-drugs message, encouraging girls to avoid teenage pregnancy and youth combating the abuse of alcohol which is a crisis in our communities.”
